As the day draws to a close and the light turns golden, Banff National Park transforms into one of the most magical places on Earth. Our Banff Wildlife & Sunset Tour is designed to make the most of these breathtaking evening hours — exploring the park’s scenic roads and wildlife corridors in search of elk, deer, bighorn sheep, and (seasonally) bears, all against a backdrop of some of the most spectacular sunset views in the Canadian Rockies.
This intimate 3-hour private tour is perfect for wildlife enthusiasts, photographers, families with children, and anyone who wants to end their day in Banff with something truly unforgettable.
Elk
One of the most commonly spotted large mammals in Banff, elk are frequently seen grazing in meadows and along river corridors during the evening hours. In fall, you may hear the haunting bugle call of bulls during the rutting season.
Deer
White-tailed and mule deer are regularly spotted throughout the park, often appearing at the edges of forest and meadow at dusk — the classic wildlife viewing hours.
Bighorn Sheep
These sure-footed mountain dwellers are a Banff icon. Often seen along rocky slopes and roadsides, bighorn sheep are completely at home in the steep terrain of the Rockies and make for incredible photo subjects.
Bears (Seasonal)
From spring through fall, both black bears and grizzly bears can be spotted in the park. Our experienced guides know the best areas to search and will always prioritize safe and respectful wildlife viewing.
